Aura Kingdom

I used to play Eden Eternal (also published by Aeria Games ) but I grew tired of playing it. I find it boring midway. Now, our group of friends invited us to try Aura Kingdom and I honestly find it interesting. This game has a lot of features and it took me quite a while to get familiar with their in-game system. Up until now I could probably say I'm not 100% familiar with all the stuff happening in-game.

We now have a guild and as help for new and existing  members, we've decided to create this entry to cover the basics of the game.

The Character Classes

Guardian

Role: Tank  Weapon: Sword and Shield

In the hands of a Guardian, armor and a shield are as much a weapon as a sword. These steel-clad strategists can withstand the mightiest of blows, keeping enemies busy while their team goes all-out.

Ravager

Role: Damage  Weapon: Great Axe

Ravagers are known for their take-no-prisoners philosophy. They swing their gigantic axes in arcs so broad, and with impacts so powerful, that many of their strikes damage not only the target but surrounding foes as well.

Duelist

Role: Damage  Weapon: Dual Blades

Duelists shine brightest when launching an offensive against strong single foes. Their defense lies in their acrobatic evasion, and their ability to quickly unload a flurry of high damage makes them a powerful force.

Brawler

Role: Damage  Weapon: Katars

Katar is best at making people both physically strong and close combat martial art, there is no enemy like a surging wave from the blast under their offensive world.

Grenadier

Role: Damage  Weapon: Cannon

Grenadiers are known for their trademark weapons: massive cannons that convert magical energy into explosive missiles. Since gunpowder is boring on its own, they also like to infuse their shots with a variety of elements such as fire, ice, and electricity. Being experts with machinery, Grenadiers can also engineer makeshift gun turrets and other gadgets to support their allies in battle.

Gunslinger

Role: Damage  Weapon: Dual Pistols

With a pistol in each hand, Gunslingers bring enemies to their knees with a hail of bullets. They employ fiendish traps and lace their shots with magic to stay one step ahead of their opponents in a dangerous game of keep-away. Weak-willed enemies may even find themselves doing the Gunslinger's bidding after being charmed by a beguiling shot.

Ranger

                                              Role: Damage  Weapon: Battle Bows

Link to Wiki: Here

Sorcerer

Role: Damage-over-time (DoT), support (debuff)  Weapon: Grimoire

Sorcerers draw shadowy magic from their ancient tomes and grimoires. Calling forth the spectral power sleeping within each page, they conjure up dark spells to raze and torment foes. They also have a limited control over life force, with the ability to drain the health of their enemies and bolster the regeneration and strength of their allies. Their unique class buff, Powerful Strike Mantra, allows the Sorcerer's allies to deal extra damage to their foes.

Wizard

Role: Damage, Heal  Weapon: Staff

Attuned to the forces of nature, Wizards focus power in their elaborate staves to call upon elemental magics, often damaging several foes at once. Their access to a broad range of elements allows them to capitalize on enemies weaknesses.

Bard

Role: Healing  Weapon: Harp

Far from being shy and passive musicians, Bards are an integral part of a successful party. They are most often found behind the front lines of battle, strumming rousing songs that heal or bolster their allies with invigorating buffs. When necessary, however, Bards will not hesitate to attack and stun opponents with potent sound waves, transforming their conventionally peaceful lullabies into symphonies of destruction.

The Eidolons

Hailing from the heavenly realm of Aura Kingdom (and some from the dread realm known as Pandemonium), Eidolons are powerful summoned spirits that bond to Envoys of Gaia who call for their aid. Eidolons are an incredibly diverse bunch, each one carrying its own unique story, personality, and awe-inspiring powers. The one thing that they all have in common, however, is their unbreakable loyalty to the Envoy to whom they are bonded. Together, an Envoy of Gaia and their trusted Eidolon partner have the potential to be the most formidable force in all of Terra.

More info here.

The Envoy's Path

The Envoy's Path allows you to receive additional bonuses for your class.

Stats: Some Envoy's Path choices give you additional stats. These can include damage, critical (damage), health, evasion, movement speed, accuracy, and others.

Passive Abilities: As the name states, passive abilities from the Envoy's Path can include certain effects to happen in battle when something else happens. Some passive abilities that are not triggered by anything include an increased loot drop rate and experience gained.

Skills: There are a few skills to be obtained on the Envoy's Path. These skills are combo skills between a main class and a sub-class. These skills have 2 minute cooldowns.

Previously assigned Envoy's Path points can be reset for a cost of gold or silver in game.

Below is an example of an Envoy's Path. This Path is for the Grenadier class, which uses cannons.

There are a lot more Game System that needs to be discussed but I'll just leave a link here that redirects to Aura Kingdom's Wiki Pages. Discussing them all will take forever so just read them at your leisure. LINK  And Here's another one. LINK

Seal Online Blades of Destiny

For some odd reason I find myself enjoying this game at the moment: Seal Online Blades of Destiny. This is from Playwith Interactive and it seems like this game has been launched a long time ago but I tried this game anyway because of their game graphics. I thought this is like Rose online and kids are the dominant players of this game but lo and behold, their features are not that simple. I find the pet-leveling system interesting and also the crafting schemes they have is quite challenging. I'll just share a few things I've tried in-game but please note that I'm not an expert when it comes to this gem.

The Character Classes

 Beginner

All great adventurers start off as a beginner. Think of it as the equivalent of a novice in Ragnarok Online. You just have basic skills and stuff that you can do during your idle time like fishing. But the game had a few update so now you can start off as a different class but you still start at Level 1.

Warrior

This is Brighild, my Critical Warrior equipped with the Golden Dragon Armor set.

Warriors specializes in dealing massive damage in a short span of time due to their high attack speed. They use 2-handed swords or great swords and my favorite build for them is the Critical Warrior which focuses on High Attack Speed with very good Critical Rate chance.

Knight

Unlike their Warrior counterpart Knights doesn't have high attack speed but they are the class that has the highest Defense as they are the ones who uses shields. Think of them as offensive Tanks with their skills and you'll need them when you're trying to clear High-Level dungeons.

Mage

When you see characters floating in the air and riding their wands like skateboards you identify them as mages. Easy to spot right? And like mages in every other games, these guys has Low Def and Low HP compared to the other class. They are like Glass Cannons, they can deal massive Magic Damage on enemies but they are squishy.

Priest

They come in 2 packages. The Battle Priest and the Suppport/Healer type. Battle Priests can usually solo dungeons if they have the right gears and support priests are your typical healers. Their buff effect becomes stronger if you invest in the Magic Power stat.

Jester/Clown

Uses Dagger as their weapon. Jester uses ranged attacks and they have spells to boost their attack speed. The Jester can use Darts and Cards to throw at monsters. However, they are not cheap. It is unadvisable for a new player to start off as a Jester.

Craftsman

This  is my Craftsman, Nightshifter. He usually makes the equipment for Brighild. He loves fishing.

Uses Hammer as their weapon. Craftsman can attack and have crafting skills. However, they have accuracy penalty. It might be hard for a craftsman to level up without the help of a Priest. Their statistics are primarily strength (STR) and luck (LUK). STR is for equipping gears and LUK is for the success rate when you're crafting items. Don't spread out your skill points, just focus on what item you want to create. In my case I spent his skill points for Armor Crafting.

Hunter

Difficulty depends on the build; full STR solo hunters will have difficulty hunting without a Priest; AoE hunters can hunt mobs effectively, especially at higher levels, but needs high EVA and/or DEF and HP. Capable of kiting.

The Other Interesting Stuff in-game

Pets

Normal Pet

This game has 2 kinds of pet: Battle Pets and the Normal pets. Normal pets give players stat bonuses and this depends on how you raised them. Battle pets on the other hand is capable of attacking. I don't how battle pets really work, the game allows you to have one by Level 75 and I'm still below 50.  If you want to know more, head over to their Wiki here.

Fishing

Great for spending idle time. You can use monster loot as bait. The secret here is the more rare your bait is, the better the catch so from now on I'm going to use Spider Poison for fishing stuff. I know it doesn't make sense but hey, whatever works!

Costumes

You can dress your character with different costumes in-game to give them a more "personalized" touch. Of course not all of them are for free. The good one comes with additional stat bonuses so in a way they are really worth it--if you have cash.

That's all I know at the moment. I'm still learning the ropes as I play but if you guys want to learn more, you can go to their wiki page for a good read. Click here for the link. Until next time folks!

Dead Island: Epidemic

Zombie-themed MOBA anyone?

I think this is the very first zombie Multiplayer Online Battle Arena game that I've seen. I've played the Dead Island games but this one something new as far as the franchise is concerned.  Dubbed as a "fast-paced action game where players will duke it out over supply points, using an arsenal of crafted weaponry, a bevy of devastating powers, and good old-fashioned teamwork".  Interesting enough, so let's see what this game has to offer.

Key Features

Battle Royale: 3 teams of 4 will square off in a competition to grab supplies, control key points, outsmart the competition and blast hordes of zombies.

Booming Action: Ever play a shooter? Then you'll be at home here. Epidemic is a pick-up and play action game where you'll spend more time fighting other players rather than fighting the controls. No Last Hitting, mouse-click-to-move nonsense here - all you need is to point your crosshairs at anyone and anything not on your team!

Deadly Weapons: Fan favorite crafting is here from Dead Island, helping you get the edge (pun intended) on the competition and build an arsenal to suit your play style!

At first glance and reading the game mechanics, Dead Island: Epidemic seems like this game has several features that can be seen from other released games on the internet. I think this follows a similar mechanic that the Crystal Scar has from League of Legends. Then it still follow the weapon crafting thing from the previous Dead Island games while raising the bar by a level with regards as to how the game is played like DoTA or League of Legends. 12 players are duking it out for area control so you can expect chaos and mayhem and not to mention you guys need to fend-off the zombies as well.

Survivors

What piqued my curiosity here is that the survivors has 3 forms of sorts: The Survivor, Armored and Mutated. I don't know how this will impact the gameplay overall but it's something. Below are the current roster of characters for the game and you can find more info here.

Amber

Berg

Bryce
Isys

Weapons

Of course we have weapons here, like weapons in Dota and LoL we believe a player must purchase a few weapon to create a stronger version of it. At the moment we are not 100% sure yet but knowing MOBA games it will be more likely that they will follow the same stuff.

Anyway, we still have to wait for future updates for this MOBA game. Others believe that "just because League of Legends and Dota 2 have made it so big in the e-sports scene does not mean your game franchise will have any success in the same genre". We'll just have to see it to believe it I guess as this could be a Make-or-Break move for the game franchise.

Pangya Fantasy Golf

I've watched how golf was played on TV when I was a kid and I find it to be a good sleep-inducer at times. Yes, it's that boring. But the way I looked at Golf was changed when Pangya came to the gaming world.  I call it Golf on steroids because of the awesome shots and tricks that you can pull-off from this game. Another thing that I liked here is their characters along with their costumes, not to mention the unique clubs that they use. So, let me introduce you folks to another game that I like--Pangya!

The Characters of the Game

The number of available characters to choose from has grown as the story progresses--yes, there is a story behind the game. I'm not going to tackle it because it's too long. Here are the current roster of players so far:

Nuri

Age: 15
Career: 1 year of golf, 2 months of Pangya
Hobbies: Karate, Action Movies, Games
Specialties: Irons

While searching for a device that would allow him to fly further, Nuri developed a passion for golf. Nuri came to know Pangya through the fairy Pippin. It was through her invitation that he was sent to the Island of Pangya. His even pace makes him a consistent player. His play style is delicate and controlled, but he does not have a powerful swing. However, what he lacks in power, he makes up for with control.

Hana

Age: 14
Career: 1 year of golf, 2 months of Pangya
Hobbies: Collecting Hair Ribbons, Fashion Magazines
Specialties: Irons

Quma invited Hana to the island of Pangya because of her great comet control. Her stable personality makes her a consistent player; but she lacks the power of a veteran player. However, she makes up for this with her great focus, calm play style and her special ability to curve her shots.

Azer
Age: 41
Career: Driving Range, 3 months of Pangya
Hobbies: Working-out, Eating, Drinking, Detective Movies, Biking (He doesn't have a car)
Specialties: Woods

It was Lolo who told Azer about Pangya Island. It's only been 3 months since he stepped onto the Island, but he already has the mind of a Pro. His games are full of fun and surprises due to his hot temper. However, when it comes to making quick decisions, no one compares to Azer the ex-cop. His ability to analyze the situation and make decision in a limited time brings out the best in him on the field. His shots have great power because of his age and the experience that comes with it.

Cecilia

Age: 27
Career: 8 Months of Pangya
Hobbies: Reading (Politics, Military Studies, and Engineering)
Specialties: Woods

Cecilia is a captain on the battle cruiser Silvia, but she is a mechanic at heart. Her ability to analyze problems has gained her the trust of everyone on the ship. With her brilliant mind and brilliant looks, it's not surprising that she has a large following. She represents the cruiser Silvia in the Pangya Tournament. She excels in Pangya thanks to her sense of direction and ability to calculate distance, but her perfectionist nature sometimes holds her back.

Max

Age: 23
Career: 9 years of Tennis, 1 month of Pangya
Hobbies: Collecting supercars, motorcycles, light airplanes.
Specialties: Woods

Max is a well-known professional tennis player from Britain. He lived his life as a super star but always had a secret wish that he kept to himself. Because he came from a poor family, he started playing sports for college scholarships. However, sports wasn't where his heart was. He had always dreamt of becoming an aircraft pilot. He occasionally flies his private jet to remind himself. The jet one day broke down and he was about to smash into the ocean; when the Chronos Clan came to save him. He's been on the Pangya Island for a month now. No one thinks he plans on going home anytime soon. He was fascinated with the machines and technology of Pangya Island. When he heard about Ceclia, the captain of the cruiser Silvia was participating in the Pangya Tournament, his heart was set. The tournament gave him the perfect opportunity to get close to Cecilia.

Kooh

Age: 11
Career: 7 Months of Pangya
Hobbies: Cleaning Cannons, Blaming her Crew, Collecting Dolls and Weapons
Specialties: Irons

Kooh is the young captain of the infamous pirate ship "Lunar Tomb." Nobody dares to sail into the Bartos region when Kooh is there. Kooh's life-long search for her lost father who went missing after the battle with the Demon King continues. Some people began to believe that her father joined the dark forces of the Demon King.

To prove her father's innocence, she is headed to Libera where the battle took place many years ago. She may be young, but she is more experienced than the average adult. Her shots have high power and good control. She still needs to learn more things such as spin and control.

Arin

Age: 20
Career: 11 Months of Pangya
Hobbies: Cooking
Specialties: Irons

"Tada!"

Do you see that young lady entrancing the audience with her magic tricks? Her name is Arin. She comes from a long line of magicians. She may not be a natural born magician like Cadie or Tiki, but she graduated at the top of her class from Wiz Wiz. Her popularity has never been greater during the last 10 years of her career.

So why did she enter the Pangya Competition? When she first saw Max playing Pangya she instantly fell in love; she is a girl after all! To be in the same game with Max, Arin has trained herself in Pangya. She now plays like a pro. However, she keeps making silly mistakes when Max is in sight. When Max isn't there, her true performer nature comes out. Her magic trick that turns her dove into a club amazes everyone every time. She performs better when an audience is present. The hearts you see that trail behind her comet are meant for Max, she says.

Kaz

Age: 18
Career: 12 years of fencing, 3 months of Pangya
Hobbies: Knife Play, Fencing, Meditation
Specialties: All

The boy you see walking into the sunset is the most powerful of the Rue Clan, and the most cursed. The Rue clan is Infamous for their excellent swordsmanship and dreadful dark magic. The boy travels with a cloud of evil around him. Everything he touches seems to swirl in his uneasy dark aura.

His name is Kaz. He is the successor of an Evil Lord who was been sealed by the ancient Pangya heroes.

However, there is sadness in his eyes. The boy doesn't remember anything from his past. As he walks, a sad spirit holds him gently. The spirit is called Karen, she loved Kaz in life. She always looked out for him. She gave up her life to make sure that Kaz would not become the next Evil Lord. Sadly, Kaz has no recollection of her sacrifice or these events.

Lucia

Age: 17
Career: 1 year of singing, 1 month of Pangya
Hobbies: Collecting jewelry
Specialties: She isn't sure yet...

Lucia is the biggest pop star on the market. Her silky pink hair that sways as she sings and dances have captivated her fans all over the world. They always make a scene as they try to get closer to her to take a better picture. Her snappy comments however, may take some time to get used to.

Nell

Career: 1 year of Golf
Hobbies: Spending time with Pepper
Specialties: Learning new things
Specialty Club: All Clubs

Nell was born from Demon King's heart. Nell was raised by Cadie, the greatest witch of the Pangya Island, and is completely unaware of this dark past. Perhaps the mysterious power Nell displays is something that belongs to the Demon King? Maybe an inception from Cadie?

Spika

Age: 16
Career: Researcher
Hobbies: Breaking and rebuilding devices
Specialties: Woods

Spika has landed on Pangya Island. Although her initial landing was by pure accident, her curiosity convinced her to stay on Pangya Island. Her current goal is to research the magic energy of Pangya Island and bring the technology back to her planet Zephyr (WZ 818C). She can always be seen with a device called Roi who is her trusted companion. She loves to break and rebuild devices, and Roi is often the victim.

She seems to be enjoying her stay on Pangya Island. Her favorite food on Pangya Island is Wizberry Snowflakes (a sweet dessert made with ice from the alpines near Wiz Wiz, and berries from Maga Valley on top). She has already become friends with Cecilia and the Wingtross Corporation due to their common enthusiasm for technology.

Special Shots

Yeah, the cool shots that you see other players are pulling-off is quite a spectacle to witness huh? This is another reason why I call Pangya a Golf game on steroids.  To execute these shots please refer below:

You can also watch this video to get a better understanding on how those shots can be made. Still, practice makes perfect.

Costumes

What's a fantasy golf game without costumes? But these are not just for looks, they also give your character additional skill/stats bonuses that can help you win matches.  Some of the costumes may be considered premium items that you can purchase in-game.

And that's another wrap for today fellow gamers! After I'm done on the games that I've played before, I'm going o feature upcoming MMOs of sorts so stay tuned.
