Dead Island: Epidemic

Zombie-themed MOBA anyone?

I think this is the very first zombie Multiplayer Online Battle Arena game that I've seen. I've played the Dead Island games but this one something new as far as the franchise is concerned.  Dubbed as a "fast-paced action game where players will duke it out over supply points, using an arsenal of crafted weaponry, a bevy of devastating powers, and good old-fashioned teamwork".  Interesting enough, so let's see what this game has to offer.

Key Features

Battle Royale: 3 teams of 4 will square off in a competition to grab supplies, control key points, outsmart the competition and blast hordes of zombies.

Booming Action: Ever play a shooter? Then you'll be at home here. Epidemic is a pick-up and play action game where you'll spend more time fighting other players rather than fighting the controls. No Last Hitting, mouse-click-to-move nonsense here - all you need is to point your crosshairs at anyone and anything not on your team!

Deadly Weapons: Fan favorite crafting is here from Dead Island, helping you get the edge (pun intended) on the competition and build an arsenal to suit your play style!

At first glance and reading the game mechanics, Dead Island: Epidemic seems like this game has several features that can be seen from other released games on the internet. I think this follows a similar mechanic that the Crystal Scar has from League of Legends. Then it still follow the weapon crafting thing from the previous Dead Island games while raising the bar by a level with regards as to how the game is played like DoTA or League of Legends. 12 players are duking it out for area control so you can expect chaos and mayhem and not to mention you guys need to fend-off the zombies as well.

Survivors

What piqued my curiosity here is that the survivors has 3 forms of sorts: The Survivor, Armored and Mutated. I don't know how this will impact the gameplay overall but it's something. Below are the current roster of characters for the game and you can find more info here.

Weapons

Of course we have weapons here, like weapons in Dota and LoL we believe a player must purchase a few weapon to create a stronger version of it. At the moment we are not 100% sure yet but knowing MOBA games it will be more likely that they will follow the same stuff.

Anyway, we still have to wait for future updates for this MOBA game. Others believe that "just because League of Legends and Dota 2 have made it so big in the e-sports scene does not mean your game franchise will have any success in the same genre". We'll just have to see it to believe it I guess as this could be a Make-or-Break move for the game franchise.
